This beer is a really fruit forward, low bitterness IPA. It is a great example of a New England style IPA. Highly recommended and perfect for a sunny afternoon.

Tasty IPA, But Not What I Expected

Very good beer, but not what I expected in a hazy IPA.
The beer pours hazy, and it has a wonderful citrus and (a little) pine aroma and taste from the generous use of hops. No malt flavor present, and finishes fairly bitter and dry. Foggy Day is more bitter than I expected, and the overall impression is that of a West Coast IPA instead of a Hazy, or New England Style IPA. If this were marketing as a West Coast IPA, I would say it is a good representative of the style (other than the haziness).
In my limited experience with NEIPA, or hazy IPA, the style tends to be less bitter than a West Coast IPA and the hop flavor tends to be juicier than a typical hoppy beer. I didn't get that flavor profile in this beer, which is why I gave it 4/5 stars.
